Factors that determine food choice

Have you ever wondered what is your relationship with food? Why do you choose the food you choose to eat? Let’s explore what the determinants of your food choice are! Availability. The foods available to an individual or a population are affected by geography. In many parts of the world, the diet is limited to foods produced locally. Those countries that can transport, store, and process food allow year-round access to seasonal foods and foods grown at different locations. 

Socioeconomics factors such as income, living conditions, and lifestyle affect the types and amount of foods chosen. Family living on limited incomes are restricted in their food choices.
