Are you between the ages of 13-16?

We want to hear your innovative ideas!

Join the 2021 National Science Challenge by registering a team of three before June 24. Make sure to have identified your mentor teacher also because they would need to submit the registration for you.

The competition aims to develop young students who are both theoretically and practically proficient in STEM and enhance the scientific thinking as well as the soft skills among the students. This includes growing their aptitude in evidence-based practises by applying what they learn in school with guided group research provided by the assigned mentor scientist. With their guidance, the respective finalists will be able to elevate the idea or practical solution for the local issues related to nature that nation is facing.

This year’s theme is “Caring for Nature through Science” as there is an urgent need to protect and preserve our planet for the future generations.

In order to claim one of the coveted final spots, the teams of three need to compete in the national preliminary level, the state level and finally, the semi-final level. The challenges are also different at each of the levels. They would first need to pass an online quiz in the preliminary level. At the state level, they would need to submit a video based on assigned topics. The teams with impressive videos will move into the semi-finals, where they will attend a virtual boot-camp.

The Grand Finale will see the top teams go head-to-head for a half-day day interactive quiz and pitching session to a panel of judges, comprising of industry representatives and members of the Academy.  This will take place virtually as well.
