USM researcher honoured at EUROINVENT 2018

THE Director of Innovation Office, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Professor Dr Hanafi Ismail has been honoured with the Scientific Recognition Award during the Opening Ceremony of the 10th European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation (EUROINVENT 2018), held at the Palace of Culture Iasi here yesterday.

He received this award for his outstanding contributions in the Publication, Research and Innovation of Polymer Science and Technology.

Hanafi said he is honoured and grateful to receive the award, and will continue to give his best to the University as an academician, researcher and innovator.

He was also invited as one of the three Keynote Speakers at the International Conference on Innovative Research (ICIR 2018), held simultaneously as part of EUROINVENT 2018, where he spoke on the topic of “Development and Performances of Bio-fillers Filled Eco-polymer Composites.”

Hanafi is a professor of polymer engineering and has served as Dean and Deputy Dean at the USM School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering.

He has 30 years of experience in research, focusing in the area of rubber and plastic technology. He was listed as “The Most Cited Researchers 2016” by Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) in Chemical Engineering.
