UKM, AELB sign up MoU

UNIVERSITI Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and the Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB) have strengthened the cooperation through Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Bangi recently.

UKM was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation Affairs), Prof Dr Mohd Ekhwan Toriman while AELB by its Director General, Hamrah Mohd Ali. Also present was the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Prof Dr Mohammad
Kasim and AELB Deputy Director-General Mohd Pauzi Mohd Sobari.

Mohd Ekhwan said this collaboration is a joint venture to build expertise in the field of security, nuclear and radiation use.

He said this partnership which also involves FST is expected to encourage collaborative research, laboratory development in securities, nuclear material and equipment utilisation and radiation.

This ties will also give value to UKM’s efforts in reinforce the development of nuclear research in UKM, he said.
