In the past 20 years, new species of frogs have been identified in Borneo island.
In the first field guide of Frogs of Borneo (1997) only 90 species were listed.
However, the list has now doubled to 180 species.
Naturalist Datuk Seri Teo Chee Kang who heads the Kota Kinabalu-based Natural History Publications which published the latest guide on the Borneo amphibians says the identification of many new species is an indication of Borneo’s rich biodiversity.
