‘Toxic’ tattoo ink particles can travel to your lymph nodes


Scientists from the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in France discovered the chemicals in tattoo ink travel from the skin to the blood stream and accumulate in the lymph nodes, obstructing their ability to fight infections.

Their finding, published in Scientific Reports noted tattoo ink contains tiny particles of heavy metals such as nickel, chromium, manganese and cobalt, as well as other toxic impurities.
